  1. Do allow pets in your cabins, campers or cottages?
    We do not allow pets on our rental sites or in our rental units.
  2. Do you allow pets?
    Yes we allow two pets per campsite, with restrictions. We do not allow Pit Bull or Pit Bull type dogs, aggressive or overly talkative dogs. We do not allow pets in our rental sites.
  3. Do you have firewood for sale?
    We sell firewood beside bathouse #2 and at the General Store.
  4. How old do you have to be to drive a golf cart?
    You must be 21 and older and have a valid driver's license to rent a Cherrystone golf cart. You must be 18 or older, have a valid driver's license and be on the rental agreement to drive a Cherrystone golf cart. You must be 18 and have a valid driver's license to drive your personal golf cart on Cherrystone property.
  5. What time is check in? What time is check out?
    Check in for a campsite is 2pm. Check in for rentals is 3pm. Check out for campsites and rentals is 11am.
  6. Can I give my reservation to someone else if I can't come?
    Unfortunately, reservations cannot be transferred. Your reservation would have to be cancelled and a separate reservation made for the new guest.
  7. I am arriving after the rest of my party, can one of them check in for me and sign my paperwork?
    Unfortunately, we cannot allow other people to access your reservation information. However, if you add them to the reservation they would be able to check in and occupy the site before you arrive. Please call the Welcome Center for further information. For a guest to check in they must be 21 and older. 
  8. Can I dock my boat, wave runner, canoe or watercraft at the piers?
    Unfortunately, we do not allow the mooring of boats at our piers. We have an excellent marina right next door that will gladly moor your boat.
  9. Do you need a permit to fish off of the piers?
    You do not need a fishing license to fish from our piers, boats or the Ms. Jennifer. However, you do need to register with the Virginia Fisherman's ID Program at www.mrc.virginia.gov/FIP if fishing in Virginia.
  10. How much to rent a boat?
    We rent 14 foot Carolina Skiffs for your fishing fun. Boats can be rented from our Bait and Tackle  Shop during normal hours. For pricing please call 757-331-3740.
  11. Is there a charge to use the pedal boats, mini golf, swimming pools and jumping pillow?
    During the Summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) there is no charge to use the pedal boats, mini golf, beach, and pools. We do add a 10% amenity fee on your reservation during this time. In the Spring and Fall we add a 4.5% amenity fee for these activities.
  12. For reservations what age is considered an adult?
    Guests over the age of 18 are considered to be adults. Children are defined as unmarried children 18 and under who live at home with you and do not have children of their own.
  13. What age do you have to be to rent a campsite?
    We do not rent campsites to guests under 21.
  14. When can we look at or tour the park?
    During the summer season we allow tours from sunrise to sunset. Visitors interested in touring our camping resort register at the Ranger station, and are provided a temporary timed pass. During our shoulder seasons, visitors register at the Welcome Center. Visitors are not granted tour access if they are towing a camping unit, or driving a camping unit. 
  15. How late can you check in?
    During the summer season we have Rangers on 24 hours a day. You can check in at the Ranger Station when the Welcome Center is closed. When Rangers are not on duty, directions, sites and information are available from our bulletin board at the Welcome Center.
  16. How much is a visitor pass?
    Visitor passes during the summer season are $15 per person and are good from the time of purchase until 11am (check out) the next day. Off season the visitor pass is $12 and are good for the same length of time.
  17. Do you sell propane?
    Yes we sell propane by the tank and by the gallon. You can purchase propane from the Welcome Center or the General Store during normal business hours. We only pump propane at certain times so please check when purchasing your propane.
  18. Do you have a pump service for waste holding tanks?
    Yes, we have a portable pump system that will come to your site and pump out your holding tanks. Service can be paid for and scheduled at either the General Store or the Welcome Center during normal hours. Please try and schedule the day before service is needed, there is an extra charge for same day service. We generally arrive at the site by 10 am for scheduled pump outs.
  19. Where is lost and found?
    Our lost and found is located at the General Store.
